It all depends on what makes you feel beautiful, inside and out. Our hairstyles should frame our face tastefully. I've seen lots of women with long hair who looked like cavemen. I've seen lots of women with long hair who looked very elegant. The same goes for short hair, it fits great for some people, yet for others, it's just awful.
Try a ponytail for a while. Spend a little time exposing the attributes of your face. If your hair is long and you're contemplating cutting it, try a short wig for about a week, see how you like it. You might want to get a small variety. If your hair is short, and you can't wait for it to grow out, there is always hair available.

Long hair definitely has more possibilities. It can be worn to look short, but it takes extensions to make short hair look long. Long hair is exotic and attractive. Short hair is cute and fun.

Depends on the person and the cut.
My oldest daughter has short hair and she gets more compliments on her hair cut. My youngest daughter has long hair that goes down to the middle of her back and it is very pretty.

It depends on your facial appearance. If you have more of a round or oval-shaped face, I'd go with short, and if you have a longer face, long looks better. I have more of a round face, and short looks fine on me! And by short hair, I don't mean all chopped off and shaved or whatever. Mine is over my shoulders (almost touching, but still has a little length to it. I have it layered, and it makes it look longer, I think.

I think long hair. You have to have certain features to pull off short hair in my opinion - very small, pretty features.
For example, both natalie portman and audrey hepburn looked really stunning w/ short hair because they had pixie-ish features.
Someone with more pronounced looks like angelina jolie would look ridiculous with a pixie cut.
