He was sitting at a bus stop on Gratiot in Mt Clemens Michigan and was crying his eyes out. I ask him why? He said " We are getting beat in Iraq like my father got beat in Vietnam" and with that said he went back to crying. I just walked away. Is this Marine really that hurt over Iraq?

I believe he was probably referring to all of the lies that the media is propagating. If this man was really a Marine and served in Iraq, he is well aware of the great things that are happening in that country. Yes, there are also bad things happening. But, our efforts in Iraq are to free these people from oppression and allow them to develop their own form of democratic gov. and make their own mistakes. The gains on this effort are conveniently ignored.
HE has put his own life on the line to protect OUR freedoms, beliefs, and way of life. How have we thanked these people, by reporting on a daily basis ONLY what is going wrong over there and the death toll (which is not that high). No actually, if I were him I would want them hung "high in the trees" for treason. I would be really p*ssed off if I were him.

Who wouldnt be hurt over the things going on in Iraq. We are losing a bunch of innocent people in a pointless stupid war because of a stupid numb nut president. Anyone with half a brain and a heart would be hurt by what is going on in Iraq. As for the rest of you nimwits that posted comments about this question why dont you take your mouthy a**es over there and do some fighting. Maybe that will shut you up.

Erudite, you're such a liar. One day, you're going to meet the wrong (or right) person on the street and you're going to get what you have coming to you. When they're done with you, you'll have to meet God and explain your actions to him. Then your real judgment will come.
Quit blaming your poor existence on the military and move on. Just because you're a failure doesn't mean all the military is.

I dont think that really happened. We are not getting beat over there. You ask how do I know. Because my husband was over there three times and so was my unit.
