To teach us that living is only temporary, and that we shouldn't expect things to go on forever. Also, it's part of our ability to adapt. If people didn't die, there would be no changes to DNA based on our environment. When the environment changed in the way back years, then we would have gone extinct if we didn't have any way to reset the process of living (through sexual reproduction variability) to match changes going on around us. Insects have to adapt very fast to predator and climate changes, so they die much sooner and reproduce faster (not in that order, obviously).
I hope this isn't too insensitive, but you did ask why.

We are here for a "season" and a "reason" after our
"allotted" time we leave to make room for new people,
this will go on until the "end of time" if you believe in
re-incarnation, we come back for another "season"
Besides, we don't really "die" life just "changes",then
we can be with the "Lord" if we have earned it.

You know I found my self asking that same very question after my husband passed on. We were only married one month and he was 36. Got back from our honeymoon and next thing I know, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. Passed on 4 days after our first anniversary. I come to the conclusion that one day I will meet up with him and decided God had other plans for him. You know, He only takes the best of them. As for your question, cycle of LIFE. Ever notice how a baby is all curled up and one is ready to die of let's say old age, that person is curled up. On the other hand......if one doesn't make it to their ripe 'ol age.......God wanted him or her. Peace be with you. Don't take life for granted and live each day to the fullest.

This is a dumb @$$ question!!!! People have to die because the Almighty feels that it is time for them to cease living because all of the sins that they have committed in their lives have cause their lives to be shortened.

its a circle of life, when someone dies, someone else is born...it is also because we stay in this earth for a temporary of time....soon the earth will be destroyed and we all will be gathered on a field full of sand. Then your good deeds and bad deeds will be calculated and you will be punished for the sin you make and finally go to heaven

Because if people didnt die we'd become overpopulated and we'd pull the earth of it's axis and out of orbit, and then we'd be royally f**cked.

When you figure out why (not how) we're born in the first place then you can figure out why we die.
