No. It is traditional for the groom's parents to pay for the rehearsal dinner. And maybe the alcohol at the wedding. The honeymoon is typically paid for by the couple themselves.

I don't believe it is traditional that the groom's parents pay for the honeymoon.
If the couple are both working, then they should be paying for their own wedding, too. ESPECIALLY if they want to do it their way and run the show. I have seen weddings where the newly married couple made more money than the bride's parents and the bride's parents were expected to pay for the wedding, but had no say in how much it cost, which was plenty. They had to take out a loan so their little princess could have the wedding of her dreams. Something is very wrong with that picture.
My husband and I paid for our own everything - and we had exactly the wedding we wanted without having to put up with anyone else's "suggestions". It was perfect and we appreciated it all that much more.

According to everything I have ever read about weddings and Emily Post's Etiquette, the groom's parents pay for the rehearsal dinner. The groom pays for the honeymoon.

I have not heard that the grooms parents pay for the honeymoon. I know that they pay for the rehearsal dinner and help the bride's parents with other expenses, not the honeymoon. I thought the bride and groom paid for that!

No, traditionally the groom pays for the honeymoon and his parents pay for the booze. The bride's parents pay for the rest.

No, some do but it is not traditional. The groom's parents pay for church flowers and rehersal dinner by tradition

not where I come from. The groom is supposed to pay for that. The groom's family doesn't pay for much except their own clothing for the wedding.

Years ago maybe. Today people tend to delay marriage while they work and save and then pay for their own wedding
