Why are so called Christians even in this forum?
I think that is proof enough...if you don't believe in reason and logic, why do you debate it or ask questions...sounds pretty insecure to me...could it be that you still haven't found what you're looking for?

Why are you here if you have concrete beliefs? My views are just as valid as yours, possibly more so.

You've got things a bit skewed. Allow me to set them straight.

It's true that I have no belief in any god or gods, and I've seen no evidence of the existence of any such entity. But of course I know that _religion_ exists -- it would be impossible to be unaware of it!

And honestly, I don't care what any grown man or woman chooses to believe. God, Allah, Yahweh, Vishnu, Quetzalcoatl, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster -- take your pick. Eternal life, eternal damnation, karma, reincarnation -- whatever gets you through the night. Incense or votive candles or the odor of sanctity or peyote -- go ahead and inhale, it's not hurting me.

But when you or any other believer presumes to make laws under which the rest of us must live -- that's when I speak up. When they attempt to teach nonsense on an equal footing with fact in the schools which my taxes pay for -- that's when I say "this is nonsense, so stop already." When believers spread lies and slander about non-believers who have done no wrong -- that's when I cry FOUL.

I couldn't do any of this if I felt insecure. So, sorry, I'm not going to go away and let you persist in your delusion that the whole world believes what you believe. Get used to it.

I ask questions about everything, I also like to debate almost anything. Why do I do this, well because I am a reasonably intelligent person who likes to learn and discuss things. Knowledge is often the key to tolerance and understanding of others and their cultures and beliefs. I am very content in my life and myself. To me religion is much like a language, history, math, science, etc. It is a part of my culture and all around me whether I believe in a God or not. It is also a big part of many cultures and history. Why wouldn't I find it interesting.

Because many of the questions about religion can best be answered by someone who isn't blinded by faith. Most people (especially Christians) don't spend a lot of time studying other religions or philosophy, so an outsider can often answer their questions more clearly than a 'true believer'.

If you believe in god, why do you even debate with athiests?

Same line of reasoning. Neither gets the answers you WANT to hear, just the ones you SHOULD hear.

There's not an "athiesm" section, and if there was, there would be theists going there to bug the athiests. Religion and Spirituality INCLUDES ATHIESM AS A TOPIC.

If you don't like it, that's just TOO BAD!

Atheists don't believe in a supreme being. It's still a religion - just ask the military. And, the last time I checked, this was an OPEN forum, meaning anyone can answer. You don't have to believe in something just to talk about it...

Many people who endlessly debate religion are definitely insecure about their own beliefs, whether they follow a particular religion or not. To ease their insecurities, they insist on fighting others and putting people down.

Some people, however, are simply curious as to what makes a believer tick. Some truly fail to comprehend why anyone could have faith in God, for example, and they might be curious as to why.

Why did you call this a forum?

Generally when I think of a forum I think of a place where intelligent people debate things intelligently.

Actually atheists probably think that believers in God are insecure and that we still have not found what we are looking for.
