OK you have to be consistent. First limit the area the dog is allow to use until it has gone potty. Put down plastic and paper to protect the floor. You can put cat litter in a box big enough for the dog to sit on it, like a huge cookie sheet.
Every time the dog wakes up or eats or drinks, take it outside. Other times only let it be in the "contained area" A dog does not want to mess its own house/yours but unless you provide a way for the poor animal to go potty, the dog has no choice but to go whereever.
If the dog has an accident outside of the above safe area, clean the area with WHITE vintegar and it will remove the odor. Dogs will go back to where they can smell previous "potty."
Why in the world did u wait so long???

If she is a small breed dog, they can take much longer to potty train. Crate training is great while no ones home. Also, you need to use the magic word (wanna go out, have to go potty, outside...etc) EVERY time you take her outside and you need to take her out EVERY hour. At bedtime, when everyone goes to bed, she needs to be crated in an appropriate sized crate. Crate training has many benefits, including being a great aid in potty training. Dogs are den animals by nature and generally love to have their own space. She may cry at first, but she will grow to love it. Good luck. Don't give up! Do lots of research!

You can't train the dog because you don't know what you are doing. I have always used the "crate training" method and it has always worked for me. Go buy a crate, don't let the dog have the run of the house or he will poop/pee everywhere. When she is in the house, keep her in her crate. I keep my dog in her crate at night and in the morning I let her out & feed her. She stays out a few hours and we bring her in and she IMMEDIATELY goes in her crate. She thinks it's her second home and dogs will usually not poop in their sleeping quarters. Your dog might a couple of times, but she will eventually stop. This should have been started when she was a very small puppy. I can't imagine getting rid of a dog because it is not potty trained. Very stupid reason. Spend some money and buy a dog crate!

go to walmart and get puppy training pads as well as a bell and some string tie the bell on the door that you will be using the most and lay about 2 puppy pads on the floor in a confinded area she will start going on them and then when you change them put one less down she will continue using them and slowly get down to 1 pad a day or you could start taking her out every half an hour or so until she starts going outside all the time good luck it takes time but they are great friends good luck

You should have had her in a crate from puppyhood, but if mot try it now! Someone needs to be there to lift her out of the crate after the evening, and place her where she needs to go, this should only take a few times as she is grown, she should be able to hold it at least 8 hours-you didn't mention the breed! GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried buying puppy pads, you can get them at petcetera or other pet stores, and then you put the pad where the dog pees most and it will pee on that, then move it slowly closer to the door and then outside the door, it should work.

A dog is for LIFE. Do you know how sad she'll be if she leaves you. Dogs get very attached to humans(unless you beat them, then they hate you), i'll try to help. It can be common for some dogs to have accidents every once in a wyle (if they are 1-2yrs old). http://pets.yahoo.com/pets/dogs/bt/housebreaking_and_behavior_issues hopefully she'll learn. If she dosent and you abandon her...dont leave her to a pound. Make shure she goes to a loving home.
