This is a silly question... all Arab nations military are pretty weak. But if you took into account Terrorism and other typically cowardly and womanly ways of fighting that Arabs enjoy I would say Egypt only because they have more people. Al Queda's #2 is from Egypt also so they could count on that support too. Of countries in the Middle East I would say (after Israel) Iran. Even though they prefer to fight like women also they do have a tradition of a stand up in your face fight too.

It's "G.W. Bush" - not "J W Bush". Just because you receive an idiotic answer doesn't mean you have to freely give out an equally idiotic reply.

In terms of ground forces, it is likely Egypt. Excellent armor, stable officer corps, strong numbers, fairly good mix of equipment - but none so advanced it's beyond their maintenance capabilities. Algerian troops likely have the most depth in recent combat experience due to that horrific insurgency, but even then it's concentrated more in paramilitary and "commando" organizations as far as the Algerians are concerned.

In terms of Air Forces, Saudi Arabia, hands down. Some of the best selection of aircraft in the region, none of it inferior to even what the IAF can field. Pilots get a decent amount of flight time, and maintenance is excellent. Money talks.

Syrians suffer from not being able to buy the latest and the greatest, Jordanians have some excellent units but theirs is not truly an "offensive" military in the strict sense, the Gulf States and Kuwait have the funds to bankroll but they neither have the population to create large standing military forces or the need.

The harsh reality is though, that none of the Arab militaries are qualitatively on par with the IDF, for a number of reasons. This could perhaps someday change, but not anytime soon.

If you mean Arab countries with Arab friends, then it's most probably Syria. Syria has long been buying missiles from Iran and increasing their military numbers. All the while staying true to Arabs. If you mean a country that just so happens to speak Arabic, then of course it's Saudi Arabia due to years upon years of missile development and SAMs.

Egypt. Iran, Turkey, and Israel are not Arab. Kuwait, Oman, Yeman, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Jordan are too small. Iraq can't yet defend itself. Saudi is a large country but its military is not very effective. Syria, could be but I would place the Saudis above them. That leaves Egypt, which has a fairly modern and efficient military and has the largest military force in the region.

Sadly i dont think anyone has a strong military,if they did ,Isreal would not take the liberty of attacking middle east countries on slight pre texts.Arabian countries are a divided lot(am sorry to say that, but i personally feel its true),even just few days back when Isreal attacked Lebanon, how many Arab states supported Lebanon by providing military support? The world sees the arabian states as a divided house fighting among themselves.Iraq-Kuwait,just an example.
i dont live in the middle east, but this is what i belive.

The U.A.E. has the best military strength. They are able to purchase weaponry such as aircraft and missles from the United States, but are not under our direct protection. We have alot of investment in the economy, and they are an strong ally in our war on terror. In addition to modern weaponry they also have sophisticated technology programs within the military. They are in range of known Iranian and Israeli rockets and has a regional policy of neutrality which sometimes creates hostility from the Muslim community.

Bottom line:
They have some of the most advanced military aircraft in the world

They have powerful medium range missiles

The recieve advanced training from the US

They have advanced military technology

Qatar, although it's a small country - Qatar has given its entire military service to the United States, BUT the military is under Qatari name, therefore it is technically a "Qatari" army. The actual Qatari army are now security guards and policmen. Iraq's military is not 100% owned by America - there are some Iraqi soldiers, and more are getting trained while we speak, but Qatar is probably the strongest :)
BTW to the Question maker himself - It's G. W. Bush, not J W Bush lol :)

In my opinion, Syria is the strongest Arab country since they probably now posses all of Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, including chemical and biological weapons. The United States government is aware of this strong possibility. Remember, just prior to the invasion of Iraq, a convoy of trucks exited Iraq and crossed the boarder into Syria. I don't think these trucks were transporting toys or candy.

The strongest Arab country is probably Iran. They have a strong navy with kilo submarines, warships, patrol crafts, and a large number of aircraft. Their army is significant as well, and although their air force is mostly in repair, it is still a threat. They are nothing to laugh at, even for us.
