She's only 5 months and the egg was from my trashcan. I don't know what to do. Is she going to be okay?

Dogs are like people in that they can eat just about anything. If anything does upset their stomachs, they'll probably just vomit, (a natural defense mechanism).

I'd say, if anything, your puppy got a good healthy shot of protein from the egg, and you've got nothing to worry about except that the egg wasn't cooked well enough. Keep an eye on him, but i'd say 90% he's alright.

First don't worry, eggs are not harmful to dogs or even puppies. You may want to let her outside to use the bathroom a little more often than usual for the next day or so because the egg may give the dog diarrhea. But you should probably get a trashcan with a lid, because puppies are notorious for pulling stuff out of an open trashcan. :) Good Luck with your dog.

I think she will be fine .She might get some diarrhea and a gassy tummy but that should be it.Don't let her have any more people food today just her normal food.Dogs get into everything. We have a rule in our house about meat and bones like chicken we always through it in the outside trash or put it in the sink and than the outside trash.Because that could kill ,but a little egg should be okay.Chicken bones are dangerouse .If your puppy keeps going in the trash be carefull.

Keep a watch on her. How long was the egg in the trash? Dogs can eat a lot of stuff that would be bad for humans without any ill effects.
Take her to the vet if she shows any symptoms of illness.

My puppy, ate eggs, donuts, burgers, cake, pie, chocolate and whatever else he could steal when we weren't paying attention.

He also drank a bowl of beer each night with my brother when my brother came in from work and not only was he OK, he lived to grow into a beautiful and very smart, I must say, dog.

(He has since passed on, may he R.I.P. from natural causes, old age I guess).

So... I think your puppy will be OK!

As long as the egg wasn't covered in a half pound of salt (literally) she will be OK. Eggs are common ingredients in dog food. The worst that will happen is her coat will be a little more shiny.

Whats wrong with giving a dog an egg? They are good for them. Don't worry about germs in the trash. They sneak all kinds of gross things.

As long as it wasnt rotten, she'll be fine. I give my dog raw eggs, they keep her coat smoothe, and shiney. I usually give her just the yolk of the egg, but the white isnt bad either. Mix it in with doggy food sometimes!

yes she will. eggs are not poisonous. In fact, many dog foods include eggs.

However, given that she is so young and this is foreign to her diet, expect diarrhea.

I know folks that gave their adult dogs scrambled eggs (cool, not hot) to keep their coats shiney. don't know if it works or not, but they love eggs.

keep a lid on the trash can so she doesn't accidentally eat anything else she shouldn't. good luck.

Just keep an eye on her. She might have a lil diarreah or vomit it back up if her tummy doesn't agree with it, but she should be fine. However, if she's vomiting alot and having diarrhea persistanly, then its time to take her to the vet.

Eggs won't harm puppies.
