Speaking as a Grandmother, yes, I got married very young! My grandchildren are the cherrys on the top of the cake! I have all the pleasure of them without the hard work, I LOVE to spoil them, and give them gifts and surprises, I probably get as much if not more, pleasure in giving then they do receiving.
But more then anything I love it when they spend some time with me, take me out for tea or dinner, take the trouble to phone to see if I am ok! Little things mean a great deal. Got it?

Tell her to save it up in a jar for you so that you can put it towards something big (college, car, etc). She'll think you're being responsible and then she can dip into it without you knowing when she needs to.
Also, appreciate every minute of love and care she gives you. Grandparents aren't round for long and you miss them loads when they're gone. And as you get older you'll find that she's the only one who *will* fuss over you, LOL

Spoil her right back! Go out of your way to show her special attention and spend some time really listening to her.

I would just tell her that her gifts are very nice but.... they are doing more harm than good because you dont like getting gifts and it seems like needless waste.... And if she still dosent listen then set her budgie on fire ...

Just love her and continue to respect, who knows, you may have your own special granddaughter some day.

tell her that you appreciate her kind gestures , but all you need is her time and wisdom as that is what you will pass on to your own kids one day.
