I am not mentioning names nor am I trying to be rude. I do not understand. I do not hate nor do I understand why some people feel such strongly. What causes such hatred and such a strong desire for returning good with evil in your opinion? Why do some people not just walk away from a question that is not rude that they do not like?

Something like it but let's just say the anger has escalated.

I am actually just wanting input and insight on this. Any ideas as to how to deal with them? I am wondering if perhaps I should quit trying to post things at all here. If people can take offense at poetry and good wishes why should I fan the flames. All I was trying to do was brighten someones day.

When people get angry because someone wished them well its usually because the person doing the well wishing was doing it in a self rightious "i'm better than you" sort of way..

I hope you reconsider any thought of abandoning and quitting posting here...If you do this then they (the haters) have won...even if you are gone they will just continue the hate on some other nice soul who does what you do.
I will not pretend to know why such people exist or why they do such obviously rude and idiotic things. It could be that they think you are not sincere...for them perhaps mere words mean nothing or may even have a veiled meaning which they think is against what they believe. Or it could be just plain bitterness and a belief that your faith and behavior is a weakness or something to ridicule.
Again...do not let them get to you. As they have the freedom to hate and be stupid you have the freedom to be nice and be intelligent. Remember that what they think regarding your actions does not really matter so long as you know that you are doing the right thing...that is all that really matters.
May the Lord smile upon you this day.

They should walk away from questions that don't apply to them. People on this forum for some reason are so angry when someone has views that disagree with theirs. Why would you answer a question trying to disuade someone from their beliefs (atheists and theists) when that is not the point of their question? Obviously you are not going to convince anyone through a forum like this. I don't know why they don't let it go. Can't we all be free to have our own beliefs? Live and let live.
Atheists - accept that some people believe in a higher power and that it is not because they are idiots. We have had experiences that prove to us that God exists.
Theists - accept that atheists don't believe in God and most of them are still wonderful people and are not doomed to hellfire for eternity because they don't believe what you do. I am a Christian, but I cannot believe that a loving God would condemn someone to hellfire for eternity for not believing, when there are so many conflicting theories/religions in the world.
Let's respect each other's beliefs. Please. :)

Some people don't like to be bothered.... Some are uncomfortable with their religious stand-points, and are annoyed by the mentioning of The Lord, as it reminds them of their faults.
Others are simply rude.
The world is full of evil, rude, and violent people.
It is something we'll have to accept and get past, And look for true Christians to associate with.
I hope you will reconsider thoughts to stop posting, as i enjoy your comments, and questions, as do many other people.
Do not let non-Believers stop you from spreading The Word of God.

What someone else said. Self-hatred, and misery loves company. The people who do that are full of self-hatred and are miserable in their lives so it pains them to see others happy or to hear others wish them happiness. They no doubt hope that by lashing out they will be able to fill you with self-doubt and eventually the same self-loathing they have. Don't let them get you down.

strangely enough i was thinking about you today and this very question ... as i too received hate mail for simply saying something nice
and i gave this a lot of thought Debra
i believe that these people wish to hurt us instead of turning that hurt towards them self .. in order than we lash out at them in return .. a punishment for them that they believe they deserve
the best " punishment " i believe is to smile and walk on Debra .. don't feed them what they wish , and stay true to yourself and the wonderful person you are
they will receive your love and they wont even realise it ... but you can and will make a difference !
love pangel xx

Maybe you give them the impression that you think you are better than them? It is possible to disrespect other people by using words that appear loving but actually come across as being patronizing.

Hate is the second strongest emotion known to man, it is second only to love. Hate feeds on itself, it needs others just like itself to survive. It draws itself to others that have the same feelings, the same emotions the same likes. It is very strong. But hate is also a coward, it can't stand on its own. It can be lone for there is nothing to feed on. Hate puts in the minds of the weak to go out and act out while it sits back and lets others do its dirty work. It likes to hide behind others for its own safety, and it laughs at you the whole time. Hate feels better when it is attacking others.
Love on the other hand is the strongest emotion, but it is hard. It can stand on its own, it painfully reaches out to others, it bridges gaps. It is always seeking others to share with. It sounds so easy but hate is the one that ends up coming out so easy. Why? Because man is a selfish creature, hate feeds off of that.Because we are selfish we tend not to want to expend the time to reach out to others. We fear it and hate loves that. If we reach out to seek others in love then we take a risk of rejection and that breads fear. What if they won't like me? Fear, rejection, two things that make us seek our own kind.
When religion is added into this mix it is like throwing gas on an open flame and we see this everyday. All religions are guilty of this, in fact religion itself is a way of grouping up with your own kind. Religion (not faith) mixed with hate is a time bomb that will go off. It is not something that you can talk over and come to an agreement and have peace. See hate doesn't want peace, it can't exist with it. Hate seeks power, and we see that going on in the middle east right now.
See I profess a faith in Jesus Christ and saying that I have to learn what He did, what He taught, and how He lived. Those are the things that by faith I am to model my life after. So in a nut shell what was it that he taught, putting others before yourself, treating others in the manner in which your want to be treated. Being selfless instead of selfish, having compassion, concerned passion, concerned love. Those are the things that I am suppose to live. Is it easy? Not that I have been through, but I don't stop trying. That is what hate doesn't want to see, so it attacks and attacks, but will all its attacking just one person show just alittle bit of love it can run hate away.
I don't know if that helps but it is the best I can do to explain it.

I was Born transgendered, thus the Catholic Church would rather have a child molester serve in a Mass than me. Evil is as evil does.
