how many fared cap. would you need for a 10,000(RMS) watt (15,000 Peak) two channel amp, and how much would it run. and what gauge cable?

the rule in car audio is to provide one farad capacitor for each 1000 RMS watts, in your case you'll need a 10 farad cap.

It's recommended to use 0.5 Farad for every 500 watts max.

So, yours would be 15 Farads. Three 5 Farad caps would suffice.

I hope you know you'll also need three 250 amp alternators as well to power that amp and battery/battery isolator setup.

I work for an audio company and we just installed the sound system at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL. with a 15,000 watt system. Of course we also have DSP's, Media Matrix Neon's and 6'H X 14'W X 2'D rack system to house it all.

A 1 farad cap will suffice for whatever it does.

Take the amp to the shop and have a technician do it. You can fry your a** if you don't know what you're doing.

Capacitors are rated by voltage, not watts.

with any amp that big dont even bother with a capacitor just get extra battries

you can use any farad capacitor for any size system... just add more if you need more. id just go with 1 farad cause thats all around best for any kind of system. and WTF are you running with 10000rms?? a ****** mtx thunder!?
