i do..because I got stomach cramps and started throwing up in the pol when i was a little girl.They had to close the pool and let all the water out and sanitize the pool, and add water to fill it up..it took 48 hours....( so ,i would wait).

No. You can swim. But you run the risk of getting cramps. And yes, it's true. Actually, any sort of excercise after eating can cause cramps. It's best to wait the 20 or 30 minutes.

Yes. It's an old wives tale. You could have stomache cramps if you try swimming too vigorously

If you have had a large meal yes. I was always told this. The reason I was given, if you jump in a pool with a belly full of food it can come up and you will either vomit or choke.
Don't know how much truth there is in it but I always wait, once something is drummed into your head you kinda believe it and it does sound logical.
Look forward to some enlightened responses from people who actually know the ramifications.

eating might give you craps so be careful. make sure someone is with you to be safe.
