i dont understand what this quote means. someone please help me understand

He was telling Gov. Andrew G. Curtin to be ready for the civil war. On April 8, 1861, it was unevidetable to Pres. Lincoln that we would be having a civil war. He was trying to warn Gov. Curtin that war was coming.

It was a note to a governor right before the civil war telling him to be prepared. Lincoln was famous for being concise in his speeches.
