I am a Christian. I like this question, it's good. I got this out of Knowing the Bible 101

The Bible is a Great Story: It tells of the creation of the world, what was created every day for the first six days. All the way until the end of the world. Infact it has many great stories in it, about a flood, it has hundreds of dramas involving nations, familys, and individuals

The Bible is a Great Literary Work: It is considered the greatest piece of Literature ever written. It contains every Literary style from drama to historical to poetry. It's plots, characters, and settings are timeless.

The Bible is a Great History Book: It has been proven to be historically correct in it's portrayal of events. No other book any where near its age has survived with integrity.

Mythology: Mythology doesn't imply that it is false or true, but rather describes a series of stories and beliefs of a given culture. The bible is also considered God's Word by certain groups of people, but it cannot objectively be said that it is. Likewise, it can't be proven that it isn't, so using the term literature tends to be demeaning. Mythology is the best term.

I would describe the bible as God's Word. I'm a Christian. And for all u doubters, the bible is real. The fact that u say man wrote it, is true, but guided by the Holly Spirit of God, how else would the bible would've been written...Duh!!! I hope those of u who don't believe in God ask God to forgive u and to prove to u that He/God is real and that He is the creation of the world and humanity. How else would u think or figure out how we (the world) became to be. I'll leave that up to u as homework. Do't talk or say anything if u don't know anything. God Bless u all.

Well that would depend on a persons world view.
I am a Christian, and I believe the Bible is the word of God. I have read it for 16 years. I have just over 100 semester hours of study just in Bible related subjects. I just hate that I did not study Greek and Hebrew.

Mythology...lets be serious here

Your not denouncing your religion to admit that it was NOT written by men who sat and spoke to GOD.

My take on the development of organized religion is that it was devised as a way of keeping order and law by striking feer and humbleness into man.

However it is a good guide book for a ritious way of life. There are many good lessons and observations set out in the Bible

I am born again Holy Ghost filled. I consider the Bible a road map with untold number of roads. With only one true road to the Kingdom. And the trick is knowing the right road.
The Bible also holds many secrets to life an death.

Literature..
How can we believe it's God's word 100% when the Bible was wrote by the follows of him, monks, and then translated from its original language into the books that we have now. We're supposed to believe, as our devotion to God, that it is his word. However I can't completely classify it as that because I cant help but thinking what if the monks or somebody was tripping' on opium and they decided to add some of the fun into it.

Makes you wonder but your faith has to be strong, I truly believe the Bible is a test of our fate.
