no. We drink water because our bodies are made mostly of water and carbon. Fish are just carbon. As long as fish get oxygen they do not need anything else.

actually. i had this very question. i thought and searched and thought and searched, and i obtained about 173 pages of information, about 107 were of my own theorys. but here is what i have decided...
1)freshwater fish have absolutely no reason to drink, because water can soak directly into their bodies. but they do drink, especially when they open their mouths to swallow something
2)saltwater fish, though, have to drink water. their is a process called osmosis. when you have saltwater, then the you ut in a peice of plastic and freshwater. the saltwater will become lower and lower, the freshwater, higher and higher. why? because the salt sucks out water and then gets less and less. therefor, the saltwater fish must drink, or it will die.

I kinda always wondered this myself. But I think they must drink water - every living thing has to. Besides, how could they urinate if they didn't drink water?

i dont really think that fish drink water. however they do open and close their mouth while in the water which results in taking a sip of the water. im not really sure if they spit it back out or swallow it.

ya they love drinking it! i meen its not lik they hav a choice they cant just get out of the bowl and get some beer or something! and i think they dont mind swalling there poop!
