"on Friday, a government official close to the case said immigration agents have decided against entering the church to remove Arellano.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because it is against ICE policy to discuss operational matters, said the Arellano case carries "no more priority than any of the other 500,000 fugitives nationally."
She will be apprehended "at an appropriate time and place," the official said"
So...... Does that mean she can stay there for years and years like the other 500,000 have been milling around for years?
I think they should go in and get her so as not to encourage others.
What do you think?

batmansgirl, I hope you are right. I don't want her to be a martyr but this 'come and get me' approach makes me want to call her bluff.

Hold em Rox - yes in fact the latest thing I saw has her saying "I didn't let them deport me and the community is behind me. I am not afraid of anything because I am in the house of God."
I think we need to make our feelings known.

I don't know that but I do know this: the ICE in Chicago just got a load of mouth from me.
Why have judges if law enforcement gets to choose who sentences can get carried out or not?
And who the hell needs sanctuary from the USA?

She will be apprehended "at an appropriate time and place," the official said"
Translation :
When It Cools Off (A Week Or So)
Authorities Will Quietly Enter
(Or Wait Till She Leaves)
And Arrest Her
And Expedite Her Deportation
Then We'll Hear About The Backlash For Two Weeks

Yes...they should drag her sorry rump out. Unfortunately, because They feel they HAVE to do this in a legal and Politically correct manner, it appears this isn't going to happen. While I agree they have others to go after, as they should, because of the press the liberal media has generated, we can't The catholics would have a fit. Try to keep word out there about what is happening, and hopefully the media blind public will begin to understand. As I said before though, I suggest they starve her out, and Make an example of her. The rat has to leave the nest sooner or later. We just need to build a better mouse trap.

nicely as a Christian i know that in basic terms via movements of one church you do no longer throw the entire business enterprise under the bus. there is abuse everywhere from college, to kin etc. I recommend even interior the White abode yet I need no longer pass there could I? For me what this guy did and the hide up that observed interior the church is despicable. have confidence me God is indignant with people who're wrongful additionally. How do i know this? via fact God has put in placed in our hearts his regulation that's elementary to guy in each time and usa and era. And that no count if we are non secular or no longer all of us have a feeling of decency and rightness in the direction of our fellow guy. And it rather is via fact we are made in God's image which is composed of his character. I say this guy could get the completed judgment of the regulation against him. And he's a repeater. Later.

They should get her now while the media is all over the Jon Benet case...... that way it will just be a blip on the screen. The longer they wait the more Arellano will feel confident and emboldened. I think they are making a mistake not getting her now. Yars makes a great point.

One of two things.
Either we take the statement at face value, that the efforts required aren't worth one known defendant.
Or we read between the lines. Perhaps they don't want to enter because they think church sanctuary should be allowed, but they know that's not the current law.
Or maybe it's just public relations. Holding the idea of respecting the church as more important than upholding the law.

I think the Gov is a little smarter then to play into the hands of this obvious attempt to make an issue of one (Monica) in a church. I think they will wait and get her when the left have a new issue to cry about. The one thing I can't stand about libs and Dems is that they never say that they are wrong about an issue and our administration is dead wrong on this one. Send illegals home and build a fence.

Sounds like "Dog day afternoon".The authorities should resort to trickery.maybe get a big police woman, dressed like a nun to go in on sunday, work her way slowly and stealthily torward the" Parishoner"reach over,b*tch slap her into purgatory .Then while she's stunned, drag that mexican Mary out into the parking lot, into a waiting border patrol van,and it's off to the badlands.
