YES, well not me, I talk to them and do the pruning right. Some people just hack away to get it done, but YES they SCREAM!
It is the most horrible sound I have heard!

No, but I've seen a plant quiver when I lit a match and held the flame close to the leaf. I didn't believe that it would but I tried it anyway because some science guy dared me to. I could hardly believe that it started to vibrate before the fire reached it. And *no* I didn't burn the plant.

Nope. But as I understand it, people claim to have detected the equivalent of pain in plants (bromelaides, I think). Chemically, electomagnetically, but as far as I know, never vocally.

Except for the screaming trees.

No, it has no vocal chords so how could it? There's no nervous system and no pain receptors, and I think you could argue that it doesn't feel pain, so it doesn't matter that it can't scream. Ergo, vegetarianism. But if you don't like to kill living things, then you can't eat plants, they're certainly living.

Not mine, really. They're actually masochists and the only noises that make when I prune them are moans and sighs of pleasure.

No, they don't have central nervous systems to send the feeling of being pruned to any sort of brain, and then they don't have vocal chords, mouths, or any sort of vocalization device.

no but they did tests on a plant way back and they do respond to pain, changing light etc.

there isn't any.

Does it have a mouth? Where did the sound sound came from?
If there is, many should have owned it.
