39, single mom of out of control 13 year old, needs advise on how to handle the introduction of the new guy I am dating and my daughter. It's terrible but I haven't a clue how she will respond. (thats a question though for a later time)

Have you talked to your daughter about the new boyfriend?

I hope this guy is a decent nice guy and not a jerk.
My advise to you is that you should introduce him to your daughter but do not have him around your daughter too much until you know this man about a year and you guys get more serious. Keyword here is dating. You should take things slowly and don't push your personal stuff on your daughter. Be careful and take care of your daughter because there are a lot of perverts out there. For example the school teacher that is alleged to have killed Jon Benet Ramsey.

You are only dating this guy. Why does your daughter even need to meet him? I would suggest you continue to day him for a while. When you see that he will be around for a while then have a talk with her about it. Good luck

Whats the big deal? You are mom not dead. Of course you can date. Don't make a big deal out of it. Just say this is my friend.. ease in to it. Don't shock the kid. But let her know who is the mom and who pays the bills. If you don't train her now she will be in jail later.

Well, there's a statistic that says more younger boys get along with the stepdad or mom's b/f, as oppose to adolescent girls that don't. You'll have to use all your mother superpowers to get through to her, but hopefully things can work out
