AWWWWWWWWWW..God bless you. Your such a Sweet heart-if he is getting jealous-he is being foolish and childish for no reason-it's your money you can do what ever you want with it-you give him love too? then I don't know what he is biitching out. Tell him to get over it-if he loves you that he would understand and although not agree-he wouldn't be such a jerk. Dogs deserve everything-sometimes even better thing than humans-and you wanna know why? well, because they don't judge; gossip; or degrade you-they just love you for who you are!! Oh, and remeber LOVE is PRICELESS!!

I've never spent 9k on anything let alone a DOGS birthday party. Sure they deserve to be celebrated, but with a bone and maybe a trip to the beach. I don't think he should have broken up with you, but that is an insane amount of money to spend on a dog. I celebrate my dogs birthday by giving her a bone and a steak for dinner.

You must have a lot of money to spend $9000 on a dog's birthday or even a person's birthday for that matter. But even though I like animals, I could see spending that much on a person but not an animal.
I know some animal lovers like to think of their pets as people but they are not and I don't think it was a wise idea.
I'm sorry, it does look like you tried to write $9, I thought it was $9,000 at first. If it was $9 then that is okay and your boyfriend is being a jerk.

You dropped 9k on a birthday party for a dog? Don't get me wrong, I have 4 dogs and love them very much. But, you do know the dog park is free and there will probably be more than 20 dogs there, right?

My opinion:
You're probably talking $9.00. No matter how many zeros, it is still $9.00. But, I look at it like this: you had a party which included dogs. There must have been "people", right? Sounds like a fun party. In all honesty, I can't imagine spending $9,000.00(0), but if you have it to spend, I think it's your business, too.
The guy is your boyfriend, right? Well, if you like to throw extravagant parties maybe this shows that the two of you aren't actually very compatible. (If it WAS $9.00 as I suspect, I'm guessing he thinks you are cheap!)
So, party hearty and enjoy your choices. I hope you have a good job to pay it off. Invite your boyfriend to the next one if you still like him. If not, invite whomever you like. Dog or not... it's your party.

Well, your boyfriend doesn't respect your love for nature and animals. You love you dog and since you can afford it, you spent the money. It IS just money after all, and if your boyfriend dumped you for you doing something you think (and 20 other people) is right to do, then you're better off without him. He'll come back if he loves you. I wouldn't contact him at all. And it looks like you wrote only 9 dollars. did you mean $9000.00? You have to admit that's a lot of money, but if it's yours, then it's okay for you to do anything you'd like with your money. If it's your boyfriends money, then you're totally in the wrong.

I love my dogs too. I've always had dogs and they are always more than pets, they are a part of my family. But $9,000. - sorry but your dog wouldn't recognize the difference between 9.00 and 9,000. What in the world did you spend it on? Now if you are so wealthy that $9,000. is just petty cash to you, then I agree with the answer that says "spend it on something worthwhile". Next birthday buy your dog a big, solid ham bone that won't split and spend some extra time playing with him/her . . . they will enjoy it more than you can imagine.

Sorry, can't help you.
What, are you nuts? spend $9,000 on a pet's birthday party?
If you were my g/f I will do the same. Get real.
Psssst............Is it $9 or $9 thousand? If $9 I guess I could accept it.
If it is $9,000 then, hey my previous comments stand and then some:
If you are such a rich person, think of those starving people who need your help. Spend it on something worthwhile. You are flaunting your money to say the least.

I think your boyfriend was right to dump you. Spending $9000 on anybody's birthday party and not leaving home is crazy to me.
Dogs are wonderful and there's nothing better than my dog....but common sense should come into play.

$9,000 dollars is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a dog for a birthday party. Take care of him/her, but don't waste money on the dog. Own your dog. Don't let the dog own you.
