This is my number one pet peeve. Does people do this on purpose because they know its annoying? They have to because how could you not think that setting there smacking your gum is not distracting!

1. It's rude and shows a lack of manners. Talking with a full mouth of food is equally bad.

2. Gum chewers are also rude.

3. I make a mental note to myself to exclude them from any of my social activites.

That is my #1 pet peeve. I cannot stand to be around some one smacking their lips. I kills my appetite.

sometimes that could be the reason- some people just like to irritate others and some people have nervous conditions that my affect there muscles

They just really know how to enjoy their food. I know people like that. It only bothers me when I'm not hungry and I'm sitting next to the person.
