Once, I had exactly a similar experience. A gentle-man approached me on a week-end, in front of my house --he looked very respectfull and said he "locked" his wallet and wanted to ride the bus..etc. I believed him...and gave him exactly 5 dollars. The same evening...I did see again the same gentle-man doing the same "act" on the main street! so, the answer to your question is a definite NO, Niet, nada...Once we have the sad experience...we trust no more -- whether the person is in real, genuine need or not at all! Sorry.

That depends on the circumstances. I would have to be in that particular situation before I can say yes, or no. Neither I ,nor anyone else can just hand out $5 bills to all who ask.

It would depend on whether or not I had it. And, I hate to say this, but it would also depend on what you need it for (not that it's any of my business--but I guess I just wouldn't want to support a crack habit or anything). I guess if you didn't look strung out, I'd loan it to you.

Nope - never give money on the street. I've bought food for folks or offered to, but not money.

If I had it I'd give it to you, I don't know if I'd ever see you again. So why make it a loan.
