What are some crafty ideas for two year olds? My two year old is very active and I know she could be creative if I was able to give her the right inspiration.

I just did this craft a few days ago with my two year old.
Cut a strip of construction paper (about an inch wide) enough to fit around their head. Glue a picture of a teddy bear (or something else your child likes) to the front. Give your child a crayola marker, the ones with the stamps on it and then let them stamp all over it. Once they are done fit the headpiece around their head, tape the construction paper and off they go!! My Little girl loved this and it didn't take too long, just long enough to keep her interest. She too is one very busy toddler.
Have fun!

I just did this last week with my 2 1/2 yr old and he loved it. I got a big piece of posterboard at the store and got him some of those kids scissors that aren't sharp.... I then gae him some of my old magazines and catalogs and let him cut and paste on to the posterboard and make his own poster for his room. I got him glue sticks to use with it, and stickers too. Plus I set the crayons out so he could color on it as well. He had a great time. I was able to get some housework done and he now displays his poster proudly in his room to show to every visitor at our house.

I am a director of a preschool. Do activities to build those fine motor skills make home made play dough flower, water, salt and a little oil and koolaid for color and scent. Let your child rip paper and use those pieces to glue and make a collage. One that my two's love get a few bottles of glue add a little washable paint for color and let the child squeeze it on a paper plate add some glitter and you have a beautiful art piece. go to some web sites or hit the library for some great ideas.

Crayola has this paint called ,magic paints, they event come with a pad there great they are clear and meant for finger painting it will not paint any thing else besides the paper in the pad looks like magic. its really great and safe for your child and your walls you could even get their foot prints. another thing i did got a hold of a white board and markers and i let her doddle for hours when she fills it up she wipes it off and it has been a great way to show her how to count and the alp. just get the big fat markers and keep an eye on her.

Some suggestions are:
-Cut out shapes using card board and have her paint it with her hands.
-Get some stickers of animals and have her draw a farm and put the stickers on it.
-FInd some good rocks and paint them and put some faces on them.
-Get plane paper and draw different shapes and have her color them and say the name of the shape and the color she is using to fill it in with.
-Get lots of plane paper and fold them and staple it, making a book. On each page do something different on it. Maybe hand prints, or foot prints, thumb prints and fingers. Use some stickers on others. Can glue different colors of string and make some designs. On another page get different colors of paper scrapes and make a colage.
I hope these ideas have helped some.

There are some great body paints for kids on the market today. They are soap so the kids get clean and have fun too.
Tempra paints are good to fingerpaint with, they clean up with soap and water, and don't stain clothes. Plus they are non toxic.
Sidewalk chalk is another good one. You may even find recipes on the web for homemade ones.

I can't think of anything off the top of my head but search on Google for craft projects for kids. I've gotten lots from it. And Parents magazine has a craft project every issue. We do most of those too. They are fun.

I used to get plain pillow cases, and let my girls paint them, just using normal kids paints, and put hand and foot prints and stamps etc on them. They wash ok, and have a great useful memory of my girls when they were younger. When they had friends around we painted bed sheets.

Old picture frames we used to paint, and than make a nice picture to put inside.

We have also painted book shelves etc, which the kids use in their bedrooms, and it is their own work.
