This guy named larry and I are great friends. we talk about cars, motorcycles, horses, everything. We are the same age and go to school together. but his can't see that i like him or can see it and chooses to leave me hanging. Why does he date girls that blow him off when he starts talking about his interest and just start another conversation out of the blue? and then after they blow him off they get mad that he comes over and talks to me. Can any guy please explain that to me

Theory #1: Larry has no idea that you're attracted to him, especially since you started out as pals. Have you really made it clear?
Theory #2: Larry's a bit insecure (a common affliction in teenage boys, if he is one) -- I'll bet he pursues "hot" girls BECAUSE they blow him off, thinking that he can prove something if he lands one. Then, when it doesn't work, he turns to you to restore his ego, which you seem willing to do.
Possibly, he's a bit scared of actually being in a relationship, too. Maybe he focuses on girls that will shoot him down so that he doesn't have to face up to your attraction and thus be "committed" to you.
You could keep hanging out with him and hope that he grows up. Or you could try the approach of not being available to pump up his ego when other girls turn him down; maybe he'll realize he had a good thing going with you.

What's probably happening, is he feel comfortable around you, maybe not to the dating or going out, but he sees you as a real friend. When they blow him off he goes to you because he knows the you won't. And the girls get all mad because they probably think you and him are going out or something, or they think he's cheating on them.

Generally, the same reason lots of girls won't give average guys the time of day, but drool over the self-absorbed, shallow "hotties".
Because in this culture, we've all been indoctrinated and steeped in the belief that beautiful people are more valuable and desirable than not-so-beautiful people.
