For Auto Insurance, if you are an Engineer, they will give you a discount. The agent asked that I was to provide them with a diploma saying I am an Engineer. Is this legal for them to ask?

Yes. If you wnat to get the extra discount you should be able to give them proof. Just like when I got a good student discount, I had to send copies of my report cards.

God! I can tell you are an engineer! You want a discount but balk at proving you are a dopey engineer to the insurance company -- some logic, guy.

Why not? How else are they going to be sure you're an engineer?

When I was in high school, i had to give them my transcript for the "good grades" discount. god knows how i pulled that one off. :)

got a problem with showing proof at least they aren't asking for your grades

I bet you are also the same person who will dispute the repairs of his vehicle, the tensil strength of HSLA steel and the properties of the motion and inertia in regard to a body motion and its relation to its mass.
