Its the same as the difference between an Automobile and a Ford.
Ford is a brand of automobile.
Being a Baptist is a form of Christianity.
Any religion where you believe in Christ is a form of Christianity, Catholics, Protestants, Anglicans, Episcopalians, Orthodox and yes even Baptists.

A Baptist is a Christian too. Christians all believe in Jesus and love Him. But Christians in the past have had disagreements over what certain scriptures mean and these disagreements unfortunately have led to divisions. There are Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, etc. But all are Christians. I think this makes Jesus sad. His last prayer on earth was to His Father and He prayed" that we all would be One as He and the Father are One. " He was praying that we would live "in the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace."

A Christian is someone who has repented of his/her sins and put his/her faith in Jesus Christ to save him/her and make him/her righteous before God on the day of judgment. A Christian could choose to affiliate with one of any number of subset denominations.
A Baptist is a type of Christian church with a specific doctrine, i.e., take on interpreting the Bible (adult baptistm; once saved always saved; music OK, tongues usually not OK). The difference is that a Baptist may or may not have been saved/accepted Christ, meaning while many Baptists are Christians (saved), many are not.
In other words, Christian = changed heart, changed mind; Baptist = just a denomination.

To be a Christian means that you are determined to live a life that is CHRIST- LIKE. That means, acting, speaking and doing what he said. Christ went about doing good. He healed, saved, raised the dead, preached, taught, prayed for, fed, comforted, etc. Being Christ like means you are doing what he did. Being a Baptist - means that in your effort of being 'saved' , you choose to unite with a group of people who 'believe the same doctrine you believe'. This is where I, as a Christian stop. I do not believe any longer in "denominations". They are only there to separate and divide people. Most of the time, they deal with traditions and 'the way we always do things' and I know that the God and Lord I serve is not about denominations, separatism, or anything else like that. I believe in love. That's what Jesus was all about. Loving people and showing them how God loved them. What else can you ask for? I don't want anything else but His love and to show others the same love he showed me.

None.....a Christian is anyone who believes in the teachings of Jesus Christ......that's most religions.
Jewish, Islam, Hindus, Buddhists, and a few other do not believe in Jesus so they would not be Christian.
