I believe in both science and a higher power.I don't think it is out dated to believe that we are part of a much greater purpose. While we are here we can dictate our lives and even study how we came to be and how we evolved.but I don't think we are some cosmic accident.I think there was a reason for life and that reason can only be described as God.

I agree with you about people who live in the 21st century and believe outdated things. For example, some people believe the outdated notion of 'progress,' that people and society are improving. Others believe the old saw that 'man can be improved' by such things as government spending or privatization. Some lunatics still think that 'science' will solve all our problems with some new gadget. Even stranger people think that, now get this one, that the universe created itself out of nothing without a formal cause.
Yes, many people need to rethink many things and get out of the 19th century.

The same way a muslim can beleive a mass murderer is their savor. The same way a hindu beleives the cattle walking around the city (while his family starves) is his parents or grand parents re-incarnated.
A huge stury is under way worldwide now to find out why americans are so far behind the rest of the world in accepting evolution. I think it's the enumerous profit to be made on religion.
The mind set of males that they will remain the dorment of the species and over the females though religious control., and it's working in christianity and Islam. the jews are so thinly populated they have recognized the value of women in defence of the country, goverment and social cultures. Christians attempt to convience women of their lasser status, while muslims consider them chattel. Not all muslims but most. Even in indonesia, and Pakistan where women in religion have made some headway in equal rights the islamic terror groups have stolen most of that,
People believe what they hear and The united states is so religious cultured that they will be another century before heading into a world religion free.

You know I'll bet they were asking the same question in the 18th, 19th, and 20th century too. My answer for then and now would have been the same. The Christian belief will never be outdated. Jesus love me, this I know, for the bible tells me so.

How can you LIVE today, and not?
You better come on over. Non belief tends to make you stupid. (Believe is spelled like this, and they sort of went to the trouble of putting a new invention in blue at the top of the space and all). It's called a spell check. You can check your spelling with it.

Reason and science make religious belief pretty much untenable, so the best way to combat the decline in religious belief is to reject reality in toto - Pretty much all of science, especially evolution, all moral progress, all kinds of rational thought, and instead try to drag us back to the Dark Ages of religious zealotry. I think it's a conscious and cynical campaign to promote ignorance and superstition.

Its funny you should ask:people in Noah's day were saying the same thing.there day to them was just as modern as ours is to us.
read 2nd.peter 3:3-7,the same skepticism then, as today.God has
not changed and never will no matter how "enlightened"man thinks
he has become...
