I love them too --they are so wise and give the best advice. I find that everything I am going through, they have already been there and done that and they help me through whatever it may be!

Know you not just the only one, I visited my aunt, frequently she is 83 and I quite enjoy conversation with her, we can talk about the whole world and it takes hours she is probably one of that best person that I can talk to about everything, and we are enjoying her perspective on my life, is entirely different, indicating that different point of view is really helping my life, I think talking to these people will be very beneficial to younger generation if this was done on larger basis, so your question I hope was answered because I do love her as a family but also as a person as well, she's a sweet little old lady with great wisdom

I certainly agree. One of my favorite things in the world is to watch game shows where the elder win! I love to see them win money, because it breaks my heart to know that most people in their senior years have to scrape to make ends meet. It also breaks my heart to think about the elder who live in nursing homes and no one visits them. They have been through so much and have lost so many people in their lives. Through all of this, most of them want to know how you are and don't really talk about their own struggles. That selflessness, knowledge, and strength is not only admirable but heroic at times. You are a sweetheart to post this, thank you!

I enjoy talking to them and listening to their stores. History books say a lot, but they leave out the personal touch. I had the privilege of knowing my great grand dad. He claimed to have scalped three white men and the old man that lived across the street told stories about fighting Indians. They are gone now, but they made history interesting to the 10 year old boy I was 50 years ago.

I doubt it as there are a lot young people who go to the nursing homes just to be with the elderly people and some of these young people treat them as if they were their grandchildren and the elderly people love to have them visit them and you have heard the saying love makes the world go round and it's so true in this case

I don't know what age you are, but it does my heart good to know that you feel as you do. When I was younger I always liked being around older people because they listened to you and they always had knowledge that I could use. Now that I am a senior I don't feel like many younger people take time to talk with older people. You're the bomb!

I guess I could qualify as elderly at 73, and I would like to say God bless you, child. You just made an old man's day. I am a Christian by the way, so you know.
