My friend is reading the bible everyday now. He quit his job so he can read more of the bible. I tell him he is reading stories. Stories that have thousands of interpretations. It's not that I don't believe in god, it's that I don't believe in fanatacism.

He is preaching to my friends, and family.

He is leaving voice messages at my work trying to convince my boss to change his religion.

I don't understand why he thinks everybody is going to change for him.

Shouldn't he walk in OUR shoes and respect our choices in life? Shouldn't he just leave me and my family alone?

I think he is ruining his life, by being OBSESSED with god. I think it is unhealthy for him.

I agree. I am a Christian and I have supported evangelic priests (those that do try to convert) but I have always done it within a broad "adopt-a-child" or TV thing for a general audience of people who probably are disposed to "get religion" at some point so they are already willing in this. My "line-in-the-sand" is that someone actually has to ask me something before I will go into the subject. They also have to have a humble and "bent-down" spirit ready to receive God. I have found that some of the most intelligent people around have a stunted spiritual growth and have some of the best arguments against God and religion. I feel that if the Bible is really correct about the day of judgment and if there is going to be a time of separation of those who go to Heaven versus the others, that I must do something to try to save some people but not push it too far to the point of hostility, and that perhaps some are just fated to go to Hell and if so, so be it (I'm not claiming to know who's going to go and who's not - anyone who says they know that is a fool). I therefore know the truth but show respect. I think your friend might be well-served to be a hermit and go away somewhere and pray for a long time and NOT try to push this into your guys' lives.

Your friend has to find out for himself that he is being delusional. Nobody will take him seriously. He will be regarded as a nut-case fanatic and he will be shunned. Even serious church members will not accept him because they know he is over the top.

There isn't much you can do. He has to make his own mistakes. Sad to think that some people believe everything they read in a book, when none of the claims have been ever proved.

He's not trying to trick anyone into believing. I'm a Christian, and noone tricked me into believing. What I would like to know is if this friend has any mental problems. I ask this becoz you say he quit his job to read the Bible more. That's not reasonable nor logical; however, believing is reasonable and logical. If you don't believe, tell him so. It's your choice not to believe, but it's his choice to believe, too.

P.S. if you're both teenagers, then quitting his job is a lot different than an adult who has to provide for himself!

He is indeed going over board about this. It would be better for him to spread his faith by becoming a pastor in church and leave others to live their lives. Inconvenienting others is an unwholesome act because its does not respect other people time and privacy.

Shouldn't put down anything your friends believe strongly in. I'm sure after awhile he'll tone down anyways. He just wants to save as many people as he can, or at least that's what he is thinking. I'd just leave him be.

Oy that is hard to come by because I wouldn't want someone being pushy on me either (I'mChristian). Maybe you could be upfront and say you know what you're being too pushy, I mean yal are friends and you can say that to him right? If he respects you then he will back off.

that's awesome he's on fire for the Lord, aslong as he's sleeping right and eating he'll be okay. Your being tricked by lies by the devil he wants you to think it's stupid and blah but he's tricking you into thinking the bible is a trick. For your sake remember (I don't think this is a biblical quote) What is right is not always popular, what is popular is not always right

God bless

He should respect your wishes the same as he would expect you to respect his. Unfortunately, some people feel the need, through their view of love, to save others. If he is annoying you, tell him.

I think you are lying.

You made that story up just to rouse the God-Haters or just in a perverted attempt for some attention.
