Both are intellectual, some atheists in my opinion are just more open minded then some religious people. But it can be the same way for religious people, on certain issues they may be more open minded then some atheists.
Answer: They both are intellectual and both are Foolish at times.

honestly i think religious. In my opinion religious people (even though sometimes hard to believe) are more open to learn more about things...whereas Athiests it's "no & I don't believe" etc....All the athiests i've met have been so closed minded it's scary. And you cant really be all that intellectual if you're not willing to actually just sit and listen or take in the facts. Whether you believe or not is your choice, BUT what is fact IS fact and well you can just be in denial if you want.

atheists. the religious already have everything thought out for them. they do not seek truth or reality. everything they need to know is in some book. so there search for answers stops right there. atheists, see alternatives and, more importantly, question. for the religious, it is the destination that matters, for the atheists, it is the journey, not so much about the destination

I think there are some people in both that are intellectual. Atheists and Religious people do have one thing in common, they both base their lives on belief. Only, one believes their is no God, and the other believes there is.

The atheist is limited to their own knowledge/discernment capabilities; even if they read about other people and their ideas.
The 'Christian' may leave it up to God, or may 'seek' because they 'want it'. They have more potential to gain a higher understanding/knowledge than an atheist; whether they achieve it is up to them.

I would have to say atheists. Because they are always trying to PROVE their point of view whereas Christians merely need to "accept their point of view as fact." Atheists can't prove evolution and we can't "prove" intelligent design. I love the word "faith." Do you know how it is defined in the bible? Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.

Atheists. They are more willing to listen and communicate. Some religious people will only tell you about their beleifs and not want to listen to yours.

Depends on the individual not their religious orientation.

I've seen no difference. My own sister is a Christian, a professor of mechanical engineering and related subjects and absolutely brilliant. I also know atheists who have well above average intelligence. There is also a difference between intelligence and wisdom. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. :O)
