Because people need something to believe in. How moral would people be if they didn't fear hell or the wrath of God? It gives people something to live for.

Religion is a belief system that requires only faith. No evidence needs to be given, it predicts nothing and is based solely on the individuals culture and belief.
Therefore science can offer no opinions on the matter and does not try to. Since there is nothing to measure or observe religion is outside the realm of science.

i don't have scientific proof of god .. i would not argue the point

If science disagrees w/ God then it's false science plain as that and why do people believe in evolution for the same way, where'd the first molecule come from? It's faith my friend evolutionist have like it or not faith in false/faulty science

In my religion, Buddhism, we respect the religions of others. Just because there is probably NO way that we can prove the existence of a God, doesn't mean that God doesn't exist for Monotheists. Why? One word: FAITH!
