And though you didn't ask for this one, it's a BIG hit with my friends and family. I have done it with peaches as well as mangoes ... and I would hazard a guess that it would be good with apples or nectarines.

Omi's Apple Crisp (our families favorite)

This has to be one of the best Apple Crisp recipes around. It has a wonderful crust with moist apples underneath.
This is copied directly out of my mom's hand written cookbook.

Place a layer of thinly sliced apples in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan filling about 1/2 way.
Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.
Dot with butter.
Sprinkle with cinnamon. Add 1/2 cup water to the pan.

Mix together:
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 well beaten egg

Melt 1 stick butter - cool - pour over dry ingredients. Mix well and spread over apples. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 30 minutes or until its slightly brown on top.
Enjoy!!
