I have decided to start working more on my responsiblities. I want to get a dog but I don't know which one is easier to take care of. It's down to these three breeds: 1)Beagle 2)Silky Terrier 3)Yorkshire Terrier. I love these dogs. Please no HUGE, TIME CONSUMING ARTICLES. I don't mind a few paragraphs. Please serious answers please. Thanx!

If you like grooming, that's one less concern. Beagles are very active dogs, can sometimes howl (my son's doesn't but then he's had someone to spend some time training him), they are scent hounds and can be a bit stubborn, but are quick to learn and love to please.

Yorkies and silky terriers may be a bit easier in some respects but terriers tend to be diggers, more yappy. Read up on them a bit and find out about health problems.

You'd probably be happy with any one of these dogs.

Out of the three you listed the best to get would be the beagle. They are smart and easily trained. Yorkies can be stubborn and yappie as well as silky's. Not to mention they shed like crazy and the grooming is really hard to handle unless done professionally. Beagles are very loving and loyal dogs and tend to train easily. I have worked with Beagle's before and find them very affectionate. Hope this helps.

Depends on what type a person you are.
Do you want a howling dog? go for the beagle
Silky terriers are probably loud too.
yorkies have seemed the quietest to me.
But then remember that terriers have to be groomed.
I would say go for the beagle, they are the nicest and don't have to be groomed. Hope this helps.

With the terriers you will have hours and hours of hair grooming. with the beagle you will not...however...beagles are prone to plugged up anal glands that will need to be opened and emptied by a vet...and trust me on this...you have never and will never smell anything that bad in your life. Normally needs to be opened and emptied every 4-6 months. Don't know why this breed is prone to that gland plugging up but they are.

I've done the grooming thing. It's a major pain after a week. I vote for the beagle. Get used to howling...they howl at everything.

Looking at the question I not so sure you're ready for any of that kind of responsibility, yet. All of these animals take a lot of care and time. Beagles are barkers and yelpers by breeding; silkys and yorkies need a lot of grooming. Why don't you adopt a smart, healthy mixed breed dog. They're loyal, loving and they deserve good homes. You could learn the care a living, breathing, thinking animal takes for 18 years and the dog could have a reprieve from abandonment and death. Please consider it.

hmm...beagle, silky terrier and yorkshire terrier...you want to know which one is easier to take care of...well to tell you the truth based on my experience ..they are all the same ...you give them food, shelter, bathe them, play with them.... but if by easier you meant their behavior ...it is really up to the owner....it doesnt matter what kind of dog you have ....I will suggest watch Dog Whisperer at National Geographic channel...

Beagles have short hair, so alot less grooming is needed. They are stubborn. I have no experience with the other 2.

Yorkie- a little less grooming needed than a silky, and they smell better and are less rambunctious than a beagle.

I think a Yorkshire terrier will be easier to take care of.
