When you are in the shower, using warm water (not too hot) will soften the hair, and then afterwards rinsing it with cold water seals the hair leaving it healthy and glossy. Also, you can buy serums which usually work best when youa dd them to wet hair...also temporarily (if its a special occasion) using straightening irons makes the hair look extremely shiny, but if you are going to use them in the long term be sure to use a heat protectant spray and sometimes give your hair days off

There are different products you can use. One is called seal and shine, by Paul Mitchell. You put seal and shine on damp hair before you dry. Also there are serums Paul Mitchel has something called gloss drops. After your hair is dry you rub a pea size amount in your hands, then rub it over your hair. One more option is a clear, glossy, glaze. This is like hair color, but instead it is clear, and leaves you with a healthy looking shine. They do this at most salons. P.s. Don't use Pantene. It may work well at first, but over time it puts a waxy build up on your hair which makes it limp and lifeless. Professional products from a salon work best.

Treat it like fine, old antique lace.
Use gentle products. Air dry and don't heat style. Be very gentle to your hair, comb it gently with a seamless wide-tooth comb. Don't brush too often. When you do, use a boar bristle brush. Never, never, never use a brush on wet hair! It stretches and breaks your hair.
Use plenty of conditioner when you wash your hair. Ues a good leave-in. If you use products that contain cones, clarify your hair once a wek to get rid of cone build up that over time just dulls your hair. Or, go cone-free. consider pre and post wash oiling.
If your hair is long, wear it up to protect it and keep it in good condition.
Take your vitamins, eat properly and drink lots of water. Get your exercise. These are all good for your hair. And for the rest of you.
This is how you get extremely healthy-looking glossy hair.

wash your hair in cold water
use a leave in conditioner
tie your hair up when possible to keep it from drying
egg whites...it sounds weird but it works.
regular trims
examine it and think about what is wrong with your hair...is it split ends? too oily? etc. Take your cue from what your hair looks like and figure out which conditioner to get or whether you need to wash your hair...washing your hair too much makes it dry and easily breakable.
use a comb....they break your hair less than a brush.
hope this helps!!!

Avoid hair straighteners, curling irons, and hair dryers as much as possible. My favorite shampoos are Sunsilk, Joico, and BedHead. Use conditioner, if you have long hair: my favorites are Herbal Essences and BedHead. Trim your ends every month or 2.

Make sure you trim off the split ends. I'm going to include step by step what I used from pantene - and it WORKED on my hair - granted it took a few days for the product to really start affecting my hair but the results are AWESOME.
Shampoo
Before getting into the shower, gently brush or finger-comb your hair to loosen up tangles and residue.
Wet hair and pour a small amount of Pantene Smooth & Sleek Shampoo into your palm.
Rub your hands together and gently massage into the roots using the tips of your fingers. (Careful! Vigorous rubbing can cause strands to break.)
If you wear makeup, pay special attention to the hairline.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove all of the shampoo.
Condition
Conditioning is key to creating shine and preserving hair health.
After shampooing, carefully remove excess moisture by squeezing your hair with a towel. (Be gentle. Rubbing and twisting with a towel can break the hair.)
Squeeze a small blob of Pantene Smooth & Sleek Complete Therapy Conditioner on your palm and spread it over your hands, then apply it to your hair.
For super shine, condition the entire strand, starting at the roots.
For volume, condition only the middle and ends of your hair, where it's most susceptible to damage.
Styling
It's easier to apply styling products to hair that's just damp, so towel off first.
Squeeze a palmful of Pantene Get It Straight Gel or Smooth Down Frizz Control Smoothing Crème into your hands and rub them together.
Distribute the styling formula evenly by "clapping" sections of hair between your flat hands and gently pulling downward.
Blow-dry
Use the hot setting on all of your hair to accelerate the drying.
When hair is about half dry divide it into sections so you can concentrate the blow dryer and brush on one area.
Use clips to divide the top front and sides, then blow-dry them one at a time using a flat brush (smaller bristles work best). Once the top and sides are finished, you can move to the back.
A flat paddle brush works best. Its wide surface area spreads hair out and keeps it taut, which aids in the straightening process.
Follow the brush with the blow dryer, keeping the blow dryer about five inches away from the hair.
Too much heat can cause damage. Once hair is mostly dry, reduce the heat and add a nozzle. Start from the roots and follow the brush down, keeping the hair taut but not stretched too tightly. The cooler air locks in the style you want.
Set Your Style
A generous spritz of Pantene Stay Smooth Hairspray Flexible Hold will keep your smooth look in place for hours.
