I weighed 296 and went on the South Beach Diet. I lost 16 pounds in three weeks. I love the diet because it allows for most foods which have no sugar and very low carbohydrates. I do not have hunger on this diet and recommend it to you.
Good Luck!!

Realize that your current lifestyle is what got you diabetes and a heart attack in the first place.
I suggest you forget about "fast weight loss" and understand that you didn't *put* the weight on in a month or two, therefore, you won't lose it in a month or two.
I'm assuming, since you're diabetic, that you've cut down on your sugar intake. That's the first thing you should cut down if you haven't done it yet. Please cut down on all fast food as well. Make sure you eat a healthy & large breakfast every morning.
Walk or bike. Do you have a dog? Walk with it. Move more than you do now. Garden, clean, decorate, etc. Do activities daily that you like to do. If you have the money, join a gym with a friend. Make sure the gym is less than 10 minutes from your home. That's very important, because otherwise, you're going to come up with excuses not to go workout.
Eat properly. http://www.mypyramid.gov/
Plan your meals ahead. Have healthy snacks available for immediate consumption.
You could lose up to 5 lbs a week in the beginning but once you hit a plateau you'll slow down. Then, you should change your workout habits.
Good Luck!!!!

I'm sure you know there's no easy way, but if your convinced and willing to sacrifice to get your weight down at this point I can tell you a few things that will help your health in the meantime. Apple cider vinegar is good for reducing blood sugar; it doesn't eliminate diabetes though. If you're very diabetic to the point where even with insulin you still don't bring your sugar down to below 100 then take a cup of water with a spoon of vinegar in it before your meals with about a half hour. I'd also reccomend that you eat something like raw broccoli or cauliflower before your meal it will help make you feel full so you don't eat too much.
In order to lose weight you don't need to eliminate anything from your diet; you do need to greatly reduce your intake though. What are your favorite foods? Take a bite of your favorite food after your meal as your "dessert." Only one bite though. You can probably even have cheesecake if you can find the self control to stop at one bite. Chew gum, it's a bit like exercise ie you are moving. While you sit and watch tv do a few leg raises, while you lie down and read do some sideways leg raises, while you're waiting at a bus stop or elsewhere don't stand still shift your weight even shifting your weight and other "nervous ticks" help lose weight. Don't drink alcohol; it has 7 calories a gram. Don't drink water with your meals to fill your belly it gives you indigestion and makes you crave sugars to help you digest. All these are just little help notes and cheat cheat hints or helpers what you really need to do is diet and exercise but at your weight I know the exercise is going to be at a very low endurance level and these ideas will just help carry you through till you're in slightly better shape to exercise at a higher endurane level. Talk to your doctor before doing anything. Good luck.

Patricia, at least you're taking a step in the right direction. I am over 200 (and I am so embarrased about it) but I'm trying to go to the gym a few times a week. I'm a former childhood athlete, but I can't believe what bad shape I'm in now. If you can make yourself walk (it's summer so that's good) for 20 min a couple of times a week, you will feel so much better. Also, I'd suggest prayer. God loves you very much and wants the best for you, more than the best human father could even love you. God bless you.

In your situation, there is no way to lose weight fast. But, one thing you can do is go to your doctor and plan out a strict diet to fit your lifestyle. Fat loss is only achieved by drastic (not torturing) actions and a ambitious will. Also, ask your doctor for exercises that you can do to lose weight that doesn't damage your heart or sugar level. I would recommend a good combo of cardio and strength training. In your case no diet pill or surgery is going to cure anything; so a strict diet and good exercise schedule is very crucial. Good luck!

I just had stomach bypass. Before the bypass I had to lose some weight, so my nutritionist suggested "the south beach Diet" and I lost a LOT of weight quickly on that diet. Went from 313 to 299 in 2 weeks on South Beach.
Good Luck.

Hi
Try this simple plan it really works so here goes,
If you are serious about losing weight, the calories in the food you eat should be less than the energy you use. You will have to increase your metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will lose weight faster. More details available at http://tinyurl.com/m7ckx
Good luck

Start eating vegatables, fruit, lean meat and fish...write down everything you eat. You would be surprised at what you put in your mouth without even realizing it!!!
I have a few pounds to lose. I went to Jenny Craig. The diet is balanced and the food is pretty decent.
Start walking !!!! Start with 10 minutes, increase it slowily every day. You can do it!!! I have confidence in you!!!

See your doctor. He can tell you what to eat. Do not just listen to comments you get off Yahoo answers. This is your life you are talking about. A lot of the methods mentioned will not be healthy for you due to your diabetes.
Please, ask your doctor.
