From what I have learned, the Japanese have rounder eyes, rounder faces, and slightly lighter skin....the Chinese have more almond-shaped eyes, and "flatter" (if you can say that) faces, and slightly darker skin. Nice to see that you aren't trying to lump all Asians together as "Orientals" like some less educated people do.

Whoa, whoa, girl. That's called a physical discrimination. Nobody can tells a difference between Chinese and Japanese races. The history is, China sent 1,000 civilians overseas to Japan. That's how the population grew there. I've seen a lot of Asian people that look like Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, and etc. Doesn't mean that they are what they look. My gosh, this question is so 100 years old!

chinese have or can have mongoloid appearance, japanese people are slightly larger as a nation with less of a definitive oriental appearance .

To a caucasian, or to an african person... only who works with several of chinese and japonese, as korean, can realise which are whom!
It's the same to them!... They can't know for sure who is mexican and who is brittish!
