The helmets aren't to protect their head from knocks, when your in a plane crash, a helmet isn't going to do much good. The helmets are actually wired up to the radio and oxygen supply. They also keep the pilot's head warm, it gets cold up their.

Their helmets were there to hold their flying glasses and headphones. They offered no protection. Of course, no helmet would.

They had to be awake to complete their "divine wind" mission even if they bumped their heads...helmets helped keep them alive and awake to die a samurai death. Was that a real question or are you trying to be funny and failing?

because when u fly up there u dont have oxygen and so u need helmet

so they don't get knocked out in there cockpit before completing there mission . and thats a fact, i agree with bones , trying to be cocky and failing

Because when they flew their mission it wasn't to die, they only flew into targets if they were hit and going down anyway.
