We tried diets...feeding twice a day to now once a day (healthy potion not too much tho). We buy cat food for indoor over weight cats.

We pick her up and walk her to the farthest part of our condo association, and let her walk back home. This is getting old fast because she seems to be gaining weight.

We notice that after she eats she just wants to go lay down and sleep till her next feeding/drink. What a lazy cat!

I am afraid she is going to get diabeties.

PS: No I can't own a dog where we live. So plz don't say dogs are better etc etc.

my chubby cat is on hill's prescription diet & gets only 3/4 cup food a day. we use the feline r/d for him. i think the w/d is pretty much the same but might taste different. my advice is to take your cat to the vet & ask the vet's recommendation on how to get your cat to lose weight. your vet can tell you how to get your cat to lose weight & how much weight he/she needs to lose. i thought mine needed to lose like 3 or 4 lbs but my vet said only 1.5 lbs cuz he is a breed that is built a little bigger than a lot of other breeds so isn't supposed to be too thin looking.

You can't get a cat to "loose" weight but you can help it to lose weight....feed it less of the normal cat food you give it(can ask your vet on how much) and then play with it more so it gets exercise....

-Maybe its the formula of the food ur feeding it, go to Petco or ur local petshop & ask them what kind of food is good 4 weight control. If u cant get to a place like Petco just spend some extra time reading the nutrition fact packages of food in the store, I'm sure u will find a weight control formula... Good Luck!!!

First buy a reduced calorie cat food, there are many avaialble. SEcond do not leave food laying out. Feed her at set times do not allow her to graze.
Thirs try stimulating your cat.. will she play with anything Give her some catnip try to get her to roll around and do stuff...

feed your cat the right healthy food because in some cat food its not very good for them its cause them to be lazy and tired! Go to your vet and they can give some more info!!

I have my cats on WD cat food (dry or yummy canned chicken flavor) from the vets. They love it and it has helped them to gradually lose weight over time. It has the added advantage of protecting against urinary track infections.
