Yes, most people live in the past or the future. It takes a high level of enlightenment to live only in the moment and yet balance the past and future. In truth, moments are all we have. We should treasure them because the past is only a memory and the future is only a dream.

Because the past is gone and mean nothing, and the future has not arrived. So the only important moment and existence is the Present. When you are able to do that very well, you might just realize that there is nothing to fear and adverse situations do not scare you.

Because we are living in the present. The present is all we have. the here and now. yesterday is gone and is not coming back. Tomorrow will always be that... tomorrow, and we are not promised tomorrow. All we have is today, our present moment.

There's no point to living in the past or future... one can plan for the future, but only to a limited degree; and the past is gone forever.

it is very important!!! living in the past is like carrying a corpse on ur back and it gets heavier and heavier day by day..
