I am having a crucial blood test and want to know if it makes any difference what I do in the days prior to the blood being taken.

i believe your body makes new cells every three months? The cells die off and new ones repalce them all the time - it won't matter what you do - as long as you don't eat if you're supposed to be fasting. Good luck!

for a cbc (complete blood count, which includes white blood cell count) there are no activities which can affect the results. the only thing i can think of occurs in small children who trash around a lot during a venous blood collection. the white blood cells which normally sort of stick to the walls of the blood vessels are loosened up and flow more in the peripheral bloodstream. the child will then have a falsely elevated white blood cell count.
