im an agnostic, and i love all
according to mainstream christianity everyone is a sinner
the sin of homosexuality is all over the bible, in genesis 18 the mythological god detroys a city for being wicked, and the christians read that these were gay men trying rape an angel
leviticus 18:22 states that being homosexual is an abomination
pay no attention to that thou cause its nonsense in leviticus 11:9-12 god said shrimp were an abomination, so thats just nonsense
jesus talks about being sexually immorral, clearly the standard of dont rape angels and eat shrimp,
st paul talks about homosexuality a bit, we read in romans 1:25 or thereabouts in the bible that women are naughty sinners for giving up to their passions, but what no one ever talks about is the fact that what paul was talking about here was the temple of athena where there were all these drunken orgies to a pagan god and the priests were having sex with teenage prostitutes
the most important thing you must know about this topic when talking to the mainstream christian is that in 1 corinthians 6:9 paul writes that homosexuals wont get into heaven
obviously the bible is a book that is filled with a lot of homophobia and hatred, don't let anyone pretend that its not it is, and thats cause the people who wrote that stuff were homophobic losers,
there is a lot of good in the bible, a lot, written by the same authors who were homophobic,
in its entirety i view the bible as a good book i can get some good life lessons from
but one lesson i dont believe god would ever want to teach is that being gay is wrong
I am of the belief that people are not born straight or gay but born with the ability to be either or and maybe both,
the individual has expiriences that lead them to pleasure with one or the other and have the developed preference and find love with one gender or the other
i dont believe in god so to me no one is a sinner
i love all
bless you

The right rating of your sin can be done by a sinless person. That is only the Creator, I believe.
By being a lesbian what difference it can make is you will not have any children. The Creators purpose behind the world population must be one that will come close to His wisdom. The day someone reaches near about His level in wisdom the whole world will undergo a change.
Religion has nothing to do with spirituality. Rather it is an obstacle for the true spiritual person. Knowing yourself is the true spirituality. Once you know, the spritual growth is your life.
One thing you have to admit that being a lesbian is not the natural way of life.

I'm really surprised out of all these responses nobody told you that being a lesbian is wrong. I always find it interesting to read the responses to the questions. You sound very sweet, and sensitive.
God is love, true, and God is light. He is all wise and knows all. His wisdom is far above anything that we could ever hope or imagine. He designed us to have a partner that is the opposite sex,not the same sex. He talks about sexual sin, how it is different from all the others. He says all the other sins we commit are outside of our body, robbery, murder, stealing, but sexual sin we commit and we involve our soul and someone elses, because He designed sex in such a way, as to unite two people spiritually as well. This is why He takes sexual sin so serious.
God does love you, and my heart goes out to you, so does God's. He didn't design you this way. The Scriptures are clear about homosexuals not getting into the kingdom of heaven, they will need to repent first.
As far as rating your sin? Only God can do this. I feel for you, and I wish it were different for you.

You are right. You have only sinned if you have hurt someone, especially knowingly. Being a lesbian is not a sin, don't let anyone tell you so, being gay is not a sin. Sin in a sexual context is about rape, incest, hurting others. Live your life the way you see fit, not to fit into other peoples delusions. You will find that you are probably more spiritual than those who follow restrictive religions, and want to tell others how they should live they're lives. Never feel guilty. Some people just have to have something to down to make themselves feel special.

Sadly, Autumn BrighTree, it is man that has bastardised the word of God/dess. We've put our own interpretation on the original word. Why do you think there's so much controversy over fundamental Islam just now? People have 'twisted' the original word to suit themselves.
Don't worry about being lesbian. If you believe in God, I presume you believe there will be a judgement day. If this is the case, God/dess will do the judging.
Know that I am heterosexual, yet I still love you.
Lots of Love and Light.

How would I rate your sin? ZERO!
I am a Christian, but my beliefs don't align with the commonly accepted Christian doctrine. I see Christ as a prophet and not as God. There is only 1 God. The beautiful thing that Christ taught is that God is love. The Old Testament teaches strict rules and self deprivation. Christ was sent to correct this. Through his teachings, I know that God is love, and that he loves me so much that he (or she) gives me a choice. I can do with my life what I want. As long as I don't hurt anyone, I will be accepted into the realm. And one more thing: (Start of a paste)
I'm the guy who asked the "most common couple" question, Monday. I don't know if I'm reading something into your response, but it sounded like you were a little annoyed with me. If so, I apologize.
The reason I even asked it in the first place was the fact that I had just seen a masculine looking woman. It got me to thinking. I lost two very good friends a
few years ago, when they moved to the East coast. I truly loved those ladies. They are both very masculine. I worked with Mary (not her real name), and we became close. We attended baseball and hockey games together, and enjoyed each other. When she met her partner, I became good friends with her, also. Jane (ditto) and I shared an interest in computers, and often went shopping together. We keep in touch through email, but it just isn't the same as having lunch with them.
I admit to being totally ignorant about "alternate" lifestyles. Although Mary and I frequently talked, we NEVER talked about sexuality. It went back to one day when a guy had insulted Mary. She told me about it, and I gave a response to the affect of "What the hell business is it of his, anyhow? And who is he to judge. A person's preferrence is the business of that person ONLY." Mary said "That's right", and that was the end of it. As a straight person, the only time I can notice is if both are Dykes (OMG. I am so dumb. I'm not even sure if it's spelled dyke or dike. Let alone know if that phrase is offensive to someone.) Anyhow, that's how my question even formed. It was just idle curiosity. As well as a nagging pain in my gut thinking about Mary and Jane. God I miss those two ladies! So if I said anything that offended you, I am truly sorry.
I wish you fair winds and following seas. (If you've never heard that before, I'll just say that it's an old sailor's saying. And I will assure you that it means I'm wishing you the very best in your journey.)
Love,
Paul
End of my cut and paste. I tried to email this to you, but got the dreaded "DAEMON". Sorry to intrude on your question, but it's important to me that I get this message to you. And I think you also ask great questions.

All have sinned. Stealing, lying, cussing, drinking too much. etc. etc. Any one of those will keep someone out of heaven because it's a holy place. The only way to get there is have the righteousness of Christ so that God doesn't see your sin. God has accepted Christ's death as payment for our sins. If we accept Christ as Savior, God forgives us and gives us eternal life. If God didn't love us He wouldn't have given his only son to die for us. Can you imagine making a sacrifice like giving your child ? When a person accepts Christ, he or she then has a desire to please God and will try to give up the things in his life that displease God. The Christian is not always successful at this. Temptation is hard to resist. Temptation is not the sin though. The sin is living a lifestyle that God doesn't approve of.
The good news is that if you ask God to forgive you, He will .You will never completely conquer sin in this life, but if you want to follow Christ and get to heaven, He will change your life
and you will have different desires.

Sins are not for rating.Sins cannot be rated and sold in market. You have to try to not commit any sin.Unknowingly if you have comitted a sin repent with full heart and confess. As regards second paragraph, whether you want or not you are a spiritual being.Man is a soul having body.If you donot realise it you are already dead. There cannot be a commonly accepted defnition for sin.In every body there is an innervoice, voice of soul or god, when you do something it actually cautions you if it is bad.Any act contrary to this innervoice is a Sin.It is unfortunate if somebody cannot hear or obey innervoice.

Live your life and don't let others tell you what is right or wrong. You only live once and you should make the most of it. Be happy with who you are. What makes you think all those religious people out there are even right? They just live in hope that they will be rescued by God, something that is yet to be prov en. All those people worried about obeying the lord might be wasting their lives obeying something that does not exist. If God really does exist, it would accept you no matter what. I mean every parent loves their children no matter what they are or do. Right?

Then to top it off he gets sent to DEATHROW and is excecuted with a bunch of criminals. He was asked what the most important message was to give to his people and ALL he could say was
Love your neigbour or something to that effect. When i look at religion i am certainly NOT seeing any LOVE or TOLERANCE. I see HATERS and JUDGERS who constantly CONDEMN.
So unfortunately you are not hurting anyone you just LOVE women, when you look around you at what is going on today. Be assured that IF GOD is a GOD of Love im not sure if YOU would be a SINNER
