You can't take liquids like water or any other kind of beverage in a carry-on. Even shampoo, lotion, etc. has to be in a non-carry on bag. The only exceptions are certain medication and baby food, not sure about contact solution, though. You can take pretty much anything else with you in your carry-on: laptops, music players (CD players, iPod, etc.) and other electronic devices (protable DVD player, handheld games, etc.),cell phones (I didn't think you could, but the last flight I was on let you use them). I think you can take food items with you, but I don't know. This whole "no liquids" thing is really aggravating. Sure, it's safer, but it's a whole lot more hassle for everyone else. Hope this helps.

Use the rule of thumb, that if you dont actually NEED it on the plane, put it in your luggage.
Forget anything liquid, sharp, food, electrical, anything with a cord (like some sport tops / hoodies). And DO go through your handbag before you get there, cause they will scan it, and while you know what "that item" is used for, the bloke with the machine gun at check-in might not be so amused!!!

you cannot take any liquids such as makeup remover, perfume, etc. No gels such as toothpaste or makeup. Also, you cannot bring a drink that you bought in the terminal. Have fun!
