If you truly loved them with all your heart then no matter how long you have been apart then you always remember them and should you meet years later you will remember what you once had and feel nostalgic. However, as time passes you meet someone else who takes over your life and your first love is put to the back of your memory but they never leave you and are always there

Actually, you never forget anything. It is all chemically stored waiting to be retrieved. As for not forgetting you first true love, than fully depends on the related memories, such as smell, which is the strongest method for recovering memories. Over 35 years ago I thought I was very much in love with Mary Beth Donoho, in San Marcus, CA. We eventually went on to other things, and other people, but I still remember her. The last time I saw her was in 1986, when I looked her up to see how she was doing. We are both now grandparents.

I'm afraid I hardly ever think of mine. Though we were together 5 years and he WAS the first true love. I remember feeling I could never love anyone as much as him - I couldn't even think past him at the time! But time does make a huge difference and people change .... xx

OMG YES!!! if you still see them around, you never ever forget.. sometimes it gets in the way of likeing someone else, in that case i'd try to forget so you could move on..

apparently so, just like you never forget your first time at sex, and whether or not it was good or bad effects your choices later on and the type of people you are attracted to apparently.
