If you can stand straight when thinking about it without any pain or discomfort you are probably just round shouldered.
This affects tons of people and is not uncommon. The only cure it teaching yourself to walk straight.
There are many supportive undergarments that can help you regain your best posture.
Oh and by the way Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that is present from birth. You would have been diagnosed with it a long time ago.

Scoliosis, might be the answer be the answer. If it were that it would most likely be a very small curve in your spine and a C-back instead of a S (The s being muck more serious). Scoliosis can worsen and eventually give you a hunchback. There are some simple tests to see if you have the curvature in your spine. Anyway scoliosis is pretty common one in ten girls have (or I think, just something near that) it.

If you have pain in your lower back right above your butt, then it might be a problem with your sacroiliac joint. I have sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and sometimes an ordinary movement (like pulling up my pants) will move that joint in a way that causes a lot of pain and even sciatica in my left leg. Not only can I not stand up straight, I can't lay down comfortably.
Unfortunately, there's no cure, and no surgical treatment. The only good treatments are physical therapy, water therapy and joint blocks.
Talk to your doctor; if he can't tell you what's wrong, he might recommend a neurologist or other specialist who can.

No, you won't be a hunchback. It does sound like either you need to work harder on improving your posture, or you're experiencing lower back pains every time you do straighten your spine. In either case, you might want to try some easy yoga, as that will improve your posture.

Why can't you stand up straight? Do you have pain? If you have pain that prevents you from standing up straight, you need to see a doctor. Maybe you just have a slumpy posture. You can learn to correct your posture. Go to a Physical Therapist if it is bad.
