Not pineapple juice...GRAPEFRUIT juice. Grapefruit juice can interact with a lot of medicines. It has nothing to do with how acidic the juice is (so, pineapple juice does not cause the same interaction, I think you were just mistaken in thinking it was pineapple juice). The reason it interacts is that the enzyme in the liver that breaks down some medications (including xanax) is also affected by a chemical in grapefruit juice. In the case of xanax, it increases the effect of the xanax and can make what would otherwise be a normal dose of xanax in to a dangerous dose.

This is a problem that is caused only by grapefruit juice, so you can drink as much pineapple juice as you would like. :)

Grapefruit juice or any fruit juice with exceissive acid is known to have negative interactions with most medications including Aprazolam is a central-nervous-system depressant.

Avoid, alcohol, other tranquilizers, narcotics, barbiturates, antihistmines, and anti-depressants.

Some of the negative you could experience is, excessive depression, tiredness, sleepiness, difficulty breathing, or similar symptoms

Smoking may reduce the effectiveness Aprazolam by increasing the rate at which it is broken down by the body.

If you take antacids seperate them from your Xanax by atleast one hour to prevent them from interfering with the absorption of Aprazolam into the bloodstream.

There are certain acids in different juices that interfere with medications. For example, you shouldn't drink grapefruit juice while taking Lipitor, because it interacts with the chemical makeup in the medication.

Ask your pharmacist or go to medline.com. Either something in the pineapple juice will cause a bad reaction with the drug or it will prevent the drug from being fully effective.
