Last night I was at the store and some strange guy whistled at me while I was shopping. Is this something most guys do while grocery shopping?

and yes Sarah k I"ve had guys whistle at me before but not in a grocery store I thought it was an odd place and thats why I asked the question. Maybe you need to get a life and get off the computer

well I hate it when guys do that too me, it is so rude, even though it turns me on if they are hot! Just smile at them and pucker your lips and flip'm the bird!

No I wouldn't - but then I can't whistle so I guess that doesn't help you.
I find it amusing how most guys say no - they wouldn't do it, while several girls say it happens all the time. (I leave the rest of the amusement in this regard for you)
I have to admit I do think it's odd... but, if your town is like where I live and that guy doesn't go to a bar - then there really isn't many options to meet someone. So why not at a grocery store?
At least it's not at a laundromat where he's conveinently coming over while you pull your whites of the dryer and you're wondering if he's just trying to see your bra size?
You probably deserve the whistle, there was no doubt in your mind what it was for and why and no concern over alter-motives
Guys just want to know if the girl will take notice of him. So while some may find it tacky, it may not be as clumsy as "hi, uhmm I just er... "

I think guys who are real gentlemen will find a better way to get your attention. Like talk to you and ask your name, rather than whistling and basically saying "Youre hot! you know exactly what i want if we got together!" so no, most guys DONT DO THAT, especially while grocery shopping.

It was probably someone over 60 remembering when whistling at some girl wouldn't get you bet up, shot at or evicted from your apartment for not agreeing with foreign policy.

Kinda rude to whistle at anyone. Was he a construction worker? They have an obligation to whistle, I've heard--something in their employment contracts.

I would never do that. I know some guys do, but they're all jerks who think too highly of themselves. Don't even look at them. If you do they'll be encouraged to take the next step.
