Was I wrong?

My 14 yr old daughter put a rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer and when I turned it on I didn’t notice and got soaked. So this morning I had the binoculars, pretending to look at something out the back window. When she was on her way out to wait for the school bus she asked what I was looking at. I said take a look. So she did. The thing is I had put graphite around the eye lenses. She said, “I don’t see anything.”
I said, “Fox squirrel; it must have went up the tree.” Was I wrong to let her get on the bus with the circles around her eyes?

Depends on your kid and her friends. If she got teased she could have felt humiliated and upset that you would put her in that position. If your kid is a light-hearted prankster that doesn't care what people think she probably got a good laugh out of it and will be getting you back, lol. Just tell her you love her, you probably created a memory for both of you to laugh about when she gets older.

I would say yes b/c u may have gotten water all over u from her but she had black circles on her eyes that would have been rly humleating going to school like that she prob got teased i know that she did something wrong to but u could at least have teither told her or did tthat after school.

Yes, of course. I think getting you wet was playful. Being humiliated at school was public. You carried the joke too far, would it have been funny if she did this to you and you were going out in public?
I would apologize and turn the fun into something to laugh about instead of being laughed at.

Depends. Did she come home crying? Then yeah, that probably wasn't very nice. Did she come home and you both have a good laugh? No worries, then. You know your daughter and the way she would react. It wasn't especially mature of you, but who says you can't be silly sometimes. ;)

u no ppl at her age think its more extreme and humiliating than u think. it was ok to get her back but maybe u should have done it a different way. i think as a mom you shouldnt be that mean to her. the next time play another trick like the one she did to you. all her friends and boys in her grade saw her like that, which definitely made her angry at you although she kinda deserved it.

I don't know ... it was funny and clever, but if my mom done that to me I'd probably get really mad at her!!!! It'd be humiliating, at least no one besides your family saw you, but all her friends and whoever was on the bus saw her ... and what if there was a really cute boy she liked was on there?!!!! Don't feel bad though, she'll learn not to do that anymore, lol.

Yes, you were wrong. But that's a minor mistake. Not dangerous. You both were just playing. That's important, don't let your anger do really bad things to others.

LOL, I think it would be fine as long as she didn't go to school, because school is like one of the places where she will be mad fun of and it can create some bad memories that can last forever. so yes you were wrong

She didn't let you go out in public after her practical joke it was done in your own home. Yours was a little over the top for a young girl where kids are harsh. Funny though.
