It's probably time to get up as far as your kitty is concerned. I try to play with my kitty-cats as much as I can at night right before I go to bed. It tends to help them sleep a bit longer by tiring them out.
I also gave my girl kitty (the neediest as far as people-attention) a big basket full of toys that I put in front of my bedroom door. That way, she sees them in the morning, and instead of waking me up, she pulls out her toys to play!
Make sure they have food, water and a clean box available too - you're less likely to be disturbed if all their needs are met.
Best of luck to you!

I have a 12 yr. old black & white girl who will often wake me up about 2:30 a.m. by meowing very loudly. Usually she is bringing her toy mouse or some other toy. She is very proud of it. I tell her how nice it is & thank her for it then I go back to sleep. I mean, this is what cats do. They are nocturnal. I will even hide her toys behind/under furniture because it allows her to "hunt". Why do you think they sleep in a sunbeam(if available) most of the day.
Just be glad she's awake & watching. She will warn you if there should be a problem.

Well my cat used to do this at 5 o clock but he doesn't do it at all. My cat meowed because he wanted food and to be let outside ( we don't let our cat out at night because he might get in cat fights) . We just ignored him which got annoying . But the next day he started meowing at 6:00 and the next day 7:00 o'clock. If your cat gets to know your schedule he will lighten up.!

I had a cat that did the very same thing. There was no sleeping until I got up. Sometimes he was hungry, but most of the time he just wanted me up and them, guess what? He went back to sleep. You can only hope they out grow it. Cats own us.Try feeding your cat and see what that does. We can only experiment. Cats are night creatures and usually sleep alot during the day. Good luck!

That's when the tabby's alarm clock goes off. Find that darn clock and reset it for at least 6 in the morning!

Sounds to me like the cat wants out of the house and into the neighborhood. Is your cat fixed? This is typical behavior of a cat who is in heat. The only way to fix that is to fix him/her!
