I think Windows Live Messenger or Yahoo! with voice, that cooperate each other, because:
1)You can talk with persons of both networks by using one of these programs.
2)You can use the other abilities of these networks for free, if you have an account of each one of them.
3)Both of these programs are for free.
In the source list you can find the presentation of each program, so you can choose between those two programs.
Notice: there are many other free chatting programs, such as ICQ, mIRC, and others, but I think there are not as nice as those two programs.
