I would like the hedge because it would give each family privacy to their own back yards and I would see that as a plus. I wouldn't think of it as rude at all. Even if you are friends with the neighbors, I would enjoy those "family only" occasions without neighbors looking on.

Sounds like they put the hedge up to keep you from snooping on them. Maybe if you weren't so concerned about what all your neighbors were doing, they would not have felt the need to block your view of the neighborhood. Mind your own business and stop being a snoop.

This is the most ridiculous question I've ever seen. No, it's not RUDE for someone to want privacy from their NOSY neighbors! I'm glad you're not MY neighbor!
Having read your previous questions........you're one spiteful, ignorant person. How old are you???? Your neighbor's dog sorta bit you, you sued them, and now you have issues with a neighbor growing a hedge? You seem to be the one the NEIGHBORS have an issue with...not the other way around!

As long as it's on their side of the property line, there's nothing you can do about it. Chainlink fences are horrible, and I can't say I blame them for planting a hedgerow to cover it. Most people would trim it just high enough so that it covers the fence, but you can still see over it. Is your yard trashy, or are you the type of person who keeps adding and keeps adding pink flamingos, lawn gnomes and a sh!tload of plants and flowers until you have an overgrown tacky mess? Are you on bad terms with them, so they're doing this to block you out? Do they sunbathe nude? There could be any number of reasons they planted it and let it get this high.

It's not rude, it's their privacy! Provided it's on their own property, there's nothing you can do about it. (What would be pretty rude would be if they didn't maintain the hedge and let it grow all scraggly.) BUT - if you want to know what's happening in your neighborhood - take a walk or invite your neighbors over.

No, it is not rude. It is for their privacy and it beats cutting down trees to build a wooden fence that will have to be replaced in 10 years. Plus hedges add to property value bothe theirs and yours since it is dividing the two properties. You and your dad shouldn't be watching your neighbors in thier backyard anyway, that's kind of rude. Respect their privacy, as I am sure you would want them to respect yours.

I built a cedar fence 6 foot tall, installed a iron fence around the front yard - and THEN grew trees - do you know why? We wanted privacy from our neighbors prying eyes - just as your neighbors want from you. Sorry but it is is the truth.

You just answered your own question. You neighbor doesn't want you peeking in their backyard. It is none of your business what goes on back there. They want privacy. You don't get out much do you? A lot of people are the same way.

Wow. I would not want you looking in my backyard. I think hedges are great- they look good, filter noise, make the air cleaner and cooler. Maybe they didn't want to see into your house or yard.
