It doesn't even necessarily mean death or dying of a human being. This particular image is a representation of the death to the ego. Why even have beliefs where you think in 'black and white' or 'good and evil'? The universe is made up of all these things, that is how there is balance. Why do some people always try and put people down with self-righteous judgmental comments?

People naturally assume things like that mean you're evil or dark. not too many people are intelligent enough to realize that the death cards symbolizes change, not death itself. then again most people don't put too much faith into the mystical and unknown....right?

Because humans exist dependent on the perceptions of objects experienced by their five senses. You should know this as the process with which we humans experience existence. Your avatar defines a perceptions according to that individual past learnings and experiences. There are clouds and urine, petty girls and chilli avatars. Why use this one and cause all these ignorant perceptions. Where do the faults lie. Understands this psychology, and you understands human behaviors.
Take care.

The grim reaper always means death of everything. If you think that causing something to cease to exist is evil then you are going to say that death is evil. Not a question of self-righteousness or judgemental comments it is merely reacting to what are social icons and norms.

Ah, the Death card. That popped up once in a tarot reading I had done.

I totally sympathsize with you. I hate it when people see see and talk in terms of black and white. I had a teacher like that last year. He was a nice guy, but his mindset got on my nerves.

Don't know, maybe because a skeleton usually reminds people of death? I'm surprised that someone said something about your avatar, everyone has a right to their own, that is rude for sure.

People naturally make associations. WHen we see a heart we think of love or Valentine's day. When we see a skull or skeleton, we think of death. WHy does that make us ignorant. Its how our minds work. Plus, why do you care anyway, if you like your avatar then keep it, stop worrying about other people's "ignorance."

Isn't the Death card actually a good thing: it symbolizes new beginnings and rebirth?

It's the Tower card you need to watch out for!

You complain about people seeing everything in black and white, yet here you are asking why people "always" assume, and why do some people "always" try to put people down, etc. Something's not right here...
